At the end of the project, a “Cross-border Laboratory for Renewable Energy Research and Energy Transition” will be established. This laboratory will be set up in the form of a constantly active research group, with the aim to use and further develop the results.

An innovative multi-criteria decision-making framework will be developed and tested; it will help guiding the planning and construction of renewable energy communities based on local networks for the generation and distribution of energy from renewable sources (solar, wind and hydro).

The tool will be tested in three different environments: a rural landscape context in the province of Belluno, an industrial area in Maniago (province of Pordenone) and a local energy community in an urban environment in the province of Salzburg.
